American Walnut is a figured hardwood with great low-mid response. With a tighter grain than Maple, Walnut produces fewer high frequencies. Darker in tone, and looks, than Bubinga it has a richness, that while prominent, is not over stated, consistently producing full yet balanced tonal character whether tuned up or down. All American Walnut shells are 7 ply and are available in many high gloss lacquer and sparkle finishes. Each tom has two die cast Natal badges featuring the ‘Sun’ logo. The bass drum also features a wood I.D. badge.
